The Trans-Canada Highway forms one border along the south, 10th St and 19th St NW form the other borders with a northern edge through the Confederation Park. Amenities near Capitol Hill Real Estate
Capitol Hill’s location in northwest Calgary places smack in the middle of many of Calgary’s finest amenities. It stands directly opposite the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, with many students choosing to live in the neighbourhood for its access to school. The campus offers courses in different fields of business, energy, public health, construction, transportation, and hospitality. Close by is the University of Calgary, another popular choice for post-secondary students both here and abroad.
Capitol Hill sits alongside the Trans-Canada Highway, allowing residents to be in Banff and the mountains in an hour, while also getting commuters into the city in less than 15 minutes. 14th St NW connects the neighbourhood with the rest of northwest Calgary and provides access for residents to Nose Hill Park, a popular attraction for outdoor lovers. This park holds kilometres of tracks and trails over the enormous grounds of native grasslands and trees. Closer to home is Confederation Park, a popular public park with city-wide events, playgrounds, picnic tables, and a public golf course to use. Kids love Confederation Park for its excellent sledding and tobogganing during the winter. The park also has many cross-country skiing trails to use during the snow season.
Across the Highway is North Hill Centre, a shopping destination for most Capitol Hill inhabitants. The mall has fitness centres, dining options, retail stores, and professional services to meet the needs of the people. The community also sits adjacent to the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, a venue hosting world-class performers, artists, musicians, and shows throughout the year.
Schools near Capitol Hill Homes for Sale
Capitol Hill Elementary is just one of the schools that residents are districted to use. This elementary serves the community as well as some of the neighbouring children. Other options include St. Pius X School, and a branch of the Calgary Montessori School, an alternative to the standard school system very popular with Capitol Hill residents.
Branton School and William Aberhart High School are both in the next community over, excellent choices for junior and senior high-aged students.
Capitol Hill Elementary has ranked as high as 70th in the previous 5 years, a solid elementary school for kids aged Kindergarten to Grade 6. Saint Pius X in the Catholic school system, ranks 202nd in the province.
