Some shopping opportunities exist in Valley Ridge across the highway. This includes all the basic necessities that residents could need. Further shopping exists in Bowness or Arbour Lake’s Crowfoot Crossing. These are the major areas for shopping, even though they require a bit of driving to access. Several golf courses surround the community such as Lynx Ridge Golf Course or Valley Ridge Golf Club. Both courses have challenging holes laid out on grounds that are well-maintained and very meticulously cared for. For good river access, Bowness Park provides year-round activities for all residents including skating, picnics, and tobogganing.

Crestmont has several schools surrounding it. There are several public schools, but also a few private schools that cater to the residents of Calgary‘s western districts. The closest schools are found in Bowness such as Bowness High School, Belvedere Parkway School, and Bowcroft School. West Springs School and St Joan of Arc School are good options for residents with elementary students. The St Joan of Arc School is a Catholic faith-based school for Kindergarten through to Grade 9 students. The school has a ranking of 25th in the province, one of the premier elementary schools in in the city. Bowness High School has an excellent athletics programs, having great success with their sports teams competing against other schools throughout the city and the province.
