Homes For Sale in Braeside
This neighbourhood is located in the southwest of Calgary, a small community sandwiched between larger neighbourhoods. It’s borders are Anderson Rd, 14th St SW, 24th St SW, and Southland Dr. This square forms the outer edges. Although it is located along the busy intersection of 14th and Anderson, this community is shielded from the noise by large fences and entry points only along with two of its edges. What is formed is a little pocket of housing that has enjoyed a steady and consistent valued place in Calgary real estate.
The demographics of the community of Braeside tells us more about who prefers to live here. The current population is 6000 residents, a moderate number compared with other communities around here. This compact neighbourhood caters to a middle-class family, earning the average Calgarian wage and housing a first-generation Canadian population of at at least 20%. This diversity in Braeside welcomes all, with no one single nationality represented in favour of another. Around two-thirds of the neighbourhood hold a higher education certificate or degree. Again, nearly two-thirds of the neighbourhood residents have lived in their homes for over 5 years, a representation that is well over the Calgarian standard. We know that Braeside is a desirable place to live because it offers a variety of housing options, the predominant being the single family home. Bungalows and double storey houses can be found on tree-lined streets next to townhouses and apartment complexes. Everyone from the growing family to those just starting out can find a place here.
The Braeside Community Association has a fairly active group that offers the residents here a place, a purpose, and a voice. The association offers a number of events throughout the year, something that is always designed to bring neighbours together and strengthen bonds in everyone living here.
The community of Braeside has a lot going for it, number one is the access it enjoys to major routes in Calgary. Along Anderson and 14th St, residents can find their way anywhere in the city with ease. The new Stoney Trail ring road will also connect this community with others in the city, due to be complete in 2020. That will increase the value of homes here and be a good reason to find a property in Braeside before its completion.
Small green parks are found everywhere here as well as a number of trails that wind through the streets. The residents also often find themselves in Fish Creek Provincial Park, an extensive natural area with paths and wildlife to explore.
One of Calgary’s most prestigious golf courses can be found at Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club, right beside the homes in Braeside. Major shopping is always minutes away at locations around the neighbourhood, at Southcentre Mall, or nearby Glenmore Landing. Nobody feels isolated or left without major services. The Rockyview General Hospital is just 5 minutes away along 14th St.
When looking at the population here, there are a large number of families, both new and growing, and they all select Braeside as their home for the schools here. There are a number of Calgary public and Catholic schools around the area, giving students the option to choose their preferred school.
These schools include Braeside School and St Benedict Elementary School. These two options have the most Braeside students. Other schools in the area to consider include John Ware School, Ethel M Johnson School, and Dr E.P. Scarlett High School. Scarlett High School has a top 50 reputation in high schools. Offering world-class programs in athletics, fine arts as well as high-level academic courses, the Fraser Institute system places it above many other schools in the city. Canyon Meadows and Woodbine contain other options, none very far from any house in Braeside.
