Access to downtown is easy along two different routes. Both 4th St and Edmonton Trail offer direct access into the downtown core, offering residents a quick access point to the business district of the city. Trans-Canada Highway is also close by so residents can get to the mountains in just 60 minutes from their doorstep. The airport is less than 15 minutes away as well, door to the terminal.
There are several schools in the district, many of them offering unique educational options for students living in Highland Park. Buchanan Elementary has classes for students in Kindergarten to Grade 6. James Fowler High School brings in almost 2000 students from all over the northwest and northeast sectors of Calgary.
