Homes For Sale in Panorama Hills
The community of Panorama Hills lies in Calgary’s northwest sector, on the edge of the last north-western communities before the Stoney Trail ring road. Much of the development here was only finished in the last 5-10 years, so it’s still a growing community, popular with families and active singles. The neighbourhood is bordered by Stoney Trail, Harvest Hills Blvd, and the Country Hills Golf Course that runs on the southern edge of the community.
The community of Panorama Hills is still growing as people continue to move here in the new housing available. There’s an astonishing 25,000 people living in Panorama Hills, up 5000 from the previous 3 years. Of those residents, 44% of them are immigrants, people from nations like China, Russia and European countries. Housing options are spread out from single-family homes to duplexes to modern condos and apartments. The options are open to everyone from affordable attached townhouses to large stately houses with plenty of room backing on to the golf course. The average earner makes more than Calgary’s standard amount. This is also reflected in the number of occupants who have college or university degrees. The residents here value good education and good careers. The normal household has a family with children at home, many of them recent movers to the neighbourhood. Of those who move here, more than 80% stay in their homes for at least a year, and that number is sure to rise as time goes on.
This large community is served by the Northstar Residents Association, a voluntary organization that maintains a 6 acre private park only accessible to residents. Members of the community that pay dues have access to the water spray park, a volleyball court, basketball courts, tobogganing runs, skating, and several picnic areas. This is always one of the highlights of residents living here.
Panorama Hills has the benefit of having many amenities in and around it. Here, you can find famous cafes & restaurants like Tim Hortons and Tamarind East Indian Restaurant. In close proximity are the Country Hills Village and CrossIron Mills shopping centres. These centres offer all the basic necessities, specialty shops, warehouse stores, supermarkets, retail options, and professional services that residents would ever need. Commuting to them is easy along Stoney Trail or Harvest Hills Blvd, major routes along the community’s borders.
The neighbourhood borders the West Nose Creek Park and the Country Hills Golf Club. This private course offers a challenging 18-hole ground with very well-maintained greens and fairways. The park is a popular destination for bikers, walkers and cross country skiers during the winter months. This 73-hectare park is full of natural wildlife and trails to explore. Of course, the centre of the neighbourhood is the private parks and ponds that only members can access, a perk of living here. Transportation is very good with access along Stoney Trail ring road and Beddington Trail feeding into Deerfoot Trail. Commuters can get to the airport in 10-15 minutes from their home.
There are many schools within this large community, a necessity given the number of families that choose to settle down here. These schools include Buffalo Rubbing Stone School, an elementary school for K-4 students. There is Captain Nichola Goddard School, a Grade 5 -9 school that is named for Canada’s first female combatant killed in action. Panorama Hills School is also a K-4 elementary school with small classroom sizes. St Jerome School is a Catholic faith-based school with students from Kindergarten through to Grade 12. This school has several hundred enrolled students looking to take advantage of their excellent programs and advanced class courses. Close by, the high school options are Notre Dame High School and John G Diefenbaker High School. St Jerome’s ranking is very good, in the top 50 schools in the province. It consistently attracts top students from all over the north of Calgary looking for good education in a faith-centric environment. They also work with many new Canadian families.
