Westmount Charter SchoolÂ
Westmount Charter School is a public K-12 facility specially designed for the gifted student.
Its two campuses (one for kindergarten through 4th, the other for 5th through 12th) are located on 32nd Street NW in the Parkdale community and Uxbridge Drive NW in the University Heights community respectively, both of which are in close proximity to Foothills Hospital and have easy downtown access.
Westmount offers optional fee-based bus transportation for students who live more than 2.4 km from its base.
The small class sizes and heavy emphasis on emotional growth are perfect complements for its all-encompassing curriculum, and it offers specialized math and language classes arranged according to the skills of elementary students.
As it is among the most prestigious and sought after “gifted” institutions in Alberta, Westmount has an early deadline for applications and pre-screening sessions in January of each year for the school term beginning in August, so you’ll need to plan ahead!
