Temple Houses For Sale

The community of Temple is a neighbourhood in the northeast of Calgary. This community was established back in the 1970s around the same time as other communities like Rundle Whitehorn, and Pineridge. In fact, these communities are a sisterhood of neighbourhoods that were named after mountains in the Banff national Park. The community was built up in the late 70s and 80s to become what it is today. This residential neighbourhood’s boundaries are McKnight Blvd, 68th St NE, 32nd Ave NE, and 52nd St NE.

The community of Temple is quite large at over 11000 residents in total. This represents a significant part of the northeast and the Ward represented here. The community is made up of over a third of immigrants, first-generation Canadians that have arrived here over several years from many different nations. The community is known for having many single-family homes, and many of those homes have been converted into basement suites to create more housing here. The community has apartments, many duplexes, and a few townhouses as well to round out the choices for housing here. Temple tends to attract people of similar mind and ability. The community makes slightly less than the average homeowner in Calgary, and they have a lower education level as well. There aren’t as many degree and certificate holders as we would expect to see in a typical Calgary neighbourhood. The community has a strong motivation to remain here, with over 60% of the population having a home in Temple for the past 5 years or more. This is a fairly typical age represented here, with young and older families both finding a home here in the houses and apartments.

The Temple Community Association plays an important role here, and they’ve been successful at it for years. The population depends on the association to offer events and programs throughout the year. They typically run events like a STampede breakfast, family fun days, barbecues, bingo nights, art galleries, yoga classes, and much more in the local community hall. They also help unite the voices of the people here so that everyone feels welcomes and heard.

Temple Amenities

The community is very well served by the amenities around here. For the commuter, this is an ideal spot to base the home and family. The major roads of 32nd Ave NE and McKnight Blvd make getting into the city easier than expected. The location of this neighbourhood is also right close to the Calgary International Airport, and for those who fly often, its and ideal situation to be able to reach the terminal in minutes from your front door.

For the community itself, there is shopping to be found throughout the area. These shops and stores provide the basic necessities that people need. They even provide a number of ethnic and exotic retail stores and restaurants that people use to their great benefit. Nowhere else in the city is there a densely-packed ethnic retail section, perfectly applying to high number of immigrants living here. Other shopping can be found at the nearby Sunridge Mall or Marlborough Mall.
