It has over 7000 residents living here, making it one of the largest communities in the west. Strathcona Park Amenities

First off, there is no need to find better shopping anywhere else. Besides the little stores and shops in the community itself, the neighbourhood has great access to Westhills Shopping Centre, a major complex with dozens of large stores offering every type of dining, entertainment, professional service, and retail experiences.  Bow Trail does offer residents immediate access to the downtown region, a large business and commercial area that’s just a few minutes away.

Small and large parks can be found everywhere here. The community has a lot to be thankful for with the bike trails and hiking paths that wander throughout the community. As for other public places, Optimist Athletic Park is very near, a public sporting ground that you can rent for a sports team. It has 8 ball diamonds, several practice spaces, and 3 official fields for soccer, rugby or any other field sports. Edworthy Park is very close along Sarcee Trail. The park has tobogganing and hiking and fire pits for families to use. This is another reason why families choose Strathcona Park.

Strathcona Park sits in the middle of excellent school districts, There are also great private schools nearby that offer exceptional opportunities to the students here. Olympic Heights Elementary is a school for students in Kindergarten through to Grade 6. They have hundreds of registered students taking part in their exceptional public programs. John W Costello Elementary is a Catholic school providing a faith-based alternative to the public sector schools. Dr Roberta Bondar School and Ernest Manning High School is close to the community. Ernest Manning has the incredible reputation of a public school that outperforms many of the private schools proclaiming better education.  Webber Academy is not far from Strathcona Park and it’s the number one school in the province according to the records of the Fraser Institute.
