Skyview Ranch Houses For Sale

The neighbourhood of Skyview Ranch is a new addition to the northeast of Calgary. This neighbourhood is a prime example of the development that Calgary has made in the past few years. The community is planned and orchestrated to the smallest detail, taking care to make sure every aspect of living here is thought of and planned for. The community’s borders are Country Hills Blvd, 128th Ave NE, Metis Trail, and 60th St NE.

There is a great deal about the neighbourhood that we can learn from looking at the data provided by the Calgary census. There are over 11,000 people living in Skyview Ranch, a massive number of people seeking out this community from all over the city. These residents are very diverse. There is a large percentage of visible minorities found here than non-visible ones. The community is currently over 55% immigrants, many of whom come from India before arriving here. The neighbourhood has a diverse nature, but the rest of the stats are fairly similar across Calgary communities. They tend to earn around the same amount as their communities elsewhere in Skyview Ranch. They also tend to have a lower education status, many fewer degree and certificate holders found here than elsewhere in the city. We know that the vast majority of people have moved here in the past 5 years, upwards of 90% of the population currently there now. These households are families for the most part, younger on average than other residents in the city.

The Skyview Ranch Community Association is just starting to take foot in the neighbourhood. It’s been building attraction to Skyview Ranch for so long, but now is making the transition into caring for those living here. The association ensures that everyone has a sense of pride about their home in Skyview Ranch and a sense of belonging with their fellow neighbours. This is done through initiatives like family fun days, and community clean-ups to preserve the cleanliness of the place.

Skyview Ranch Amenities

The people of Skyview Ranch value privacy and space. When asked about their community, it was these attributes that most frequently came up and were mentioned often. The room to grow and the space between them and other communities is massive. It’s one of the most spacious areas of the city, only having one other residential neighbour for the time being. Beyond that, Skyview Ranch residents also value their access to the rest of the city. These residents don’t want to be isolated, they just want to feel they have enough room in their homes. Both Stoney Trail and Deerfoot Trail are very close by. These provide access points into the downtown and around the city with ease. They also love living next to the Calgary International Airport, especially important for those who travel often. The CrossIron Mills  shopping plaza is a major shopping destination for those living here, seeing as it is just a couple minutes away. Every type of shopping, dining, and professional service can be found in one convenient location north of the community.

The community enjoys good recreation inside their own borders. The neighbourhood was designed to have several parks and playgrounds here. This, along with the many trails and paths, provide exercise and fun for everyone living here. People can walk, run, bike, or even cross country ski around the neighbourhood.

Skyview Ranch Schools 

The popularity of Skyview Ranch has not been lost on the school districts of Calgary. There are options to be found close by are Apostles of Jesus SchoolPeter Lougheed SchoolHugh A Bennett School, and Nelson Mandela High School. Along with these current schools, the city has planned several other sites in Skyview Ranch as well as Redstone. This will alleviate the massive amounts of young school children living in the area. The Fraser Institute ranks the Apostles of Jesus School as 165th in the province.
