Winston Heights – Mountview is bounded by Deerfoot Trail, the Trans-Canada Highway, Edmonton Trail and 32nd Ave NE.

The neighbourhood is dominated by the Fox Hollow Golf Course, a private course that offers players a real challenge in the middle of the city. The Stew Hendry / Henry Viney Arena are public ice rinks, skating and hockey opportunities for residents year-round.

Sunridge Mall is located just across the Deerfoot Trail, a mall with many ethnic foods and stores as well as normal shopping and retail options. To the north of this neighbourhood is an industrial area, although many professional services and doctor clinics have also established themselves in the district.

The community has a number of walking and biking trails along the valley beside Deerfoot Trail that offer exceptional paths during the summer and winter. Bikers, walkers, and cross country skiers all use these pathways which go for kilometres in either direction. Bottomsland Park is along this regional pathway system, playground, picnic, and natural reserve area. This trail takes residents into Telus Spark and Calgary Zoo, both major attractions for the city.
