The Children’s Hospital has over 34 fields of medicine and 150 full-time researchers.
It even has its own school attached to serve the sick children who wouldn’t be able to attend normal classes. Just over the river is the Shaganappi Point Golf Course, a large 18-hole course that challenges and entertains golfers in this public space.

West Hillhurst is also in the district of many surrounding schools Madeleine D'Houet School is a Catholic bilingual junior high with distinction in the academic courses it offers. The Louise Dean School is a high school with a unique student body. The school is aimed at parenting and expecting teens that would normally have no alternative but to drop out of normal classes. Queen Elizabeth School and Queen Elizabeth High School are next doors in Hillhurst. Hillhurst School is a reputable elementary with good rankings in the province.
