Richmond real estate is changing and improving every day. Homes for sale in Richmond are showing this as prices rise every year with newer, more luxury homes being built in place of older-style housing. The people love Richmond, and it is because of the school districts, the nearness to the downtown core, and the friendly atmosphere of the neighbourhood. Richmond is the place to be looking and the place to be living.
Homes For Sale in Richmond
Richmond is in Calgary’s southwest quadrant and straddles Crowchild Trail on either side of the road. It’s northern edge is 17th Ave and its southern tip is 33rd Ave SW. The communities of Garrison, Currie, and Bankview all border this community. It contains the Richmond Green Golf Course on just touches a border of the trendy Marda Loop business district.
The people of Richmond are slightly higher-class than the standard Calgarian. Many of Calgary’s elite like to live in Richmond for its upscale homes and incredible access to the downtown centre area. The demographics tell us what the people are like who live here. Richmond has grown to include 4500 residents, an increase in the past few years.
The community is dominated by single-family homes with large yards, and those homes are slowly decreasing as newer duplexes and townhomes pop up in their place. Developer love using the large blocks of land to put modern duplexes on site. The majority of the population live as couples, many with children at home.
The income of the community is slightly lower than average, with many residents holding post-secondary degrees. In actual fact, only 6% of the community does not hold a high school diploma or greater. 17% of the demographics are immigrants, first-generation movers to this country from many different countries. This makes Richmond a diverse, multicultural neighbourhood that welcomes all.
The Richmond Knob Hill Community Association serves the thousands of residents here by linking them together to form a greater voice for the city. They also use programs and course and events to bring people together and allow the residents of Richmond to get to know each other.

The community obviously borders 17th Ave, a central hub of nightlife and entertainment for Calgary. Many of Calgary’s hottest, most sought-after stores are located along this strip of shopping.
