Homes For Sale in Ramsay
Ramsay is an eastern inner-city community set just off the East Village boundary line. The community sits alongside the Stampede Park grounds and the Elbow River. Ramsay is also bordered by the industrial area to the east and 11th St SE. There is an industrial corner of the neighbourhood that shares the residential side of it. The only other residential neighbourhood that it borders is Inglewood.
The community of Ramsay is upcoming, currently in the midst of a massive renovation and revitalization program that started in the East Village. As the city poured money into developing the East Village into a reputable location again, Ramsay real estate benefited from that decision. Homes here are undergoing upgrades and renovations. Older homes are being torn down and replaced with newer dwellings much more conducive to the renewed neighbourhood that it borders.
The people here are a friendly-working class people, 2000 residents live in single-family homes. This represents the majority of housing options with many converted basement and garage suites offering options for less-affluent families. Few apartments and townhomes offer other opportunities, but as development continues, this number should rise. Only half of the residents hold some sort of degree or diploma.
This proportion is far less than the standard Calgarian. This is also reflected in the income, a number lower than Calgary’s average. Affordable housing continues to make this an attractive location for many residents, and that number is about to change.
The Ramsay Community Association is a very active part of the neighbourhood. It offers multiple events every month, initiatives to connect the community and bring better reputation to the neighbourhood. This includes garage sales, community clean-ups, a communal garden, and rentals of the local facility hall and rink.
