Homes For Sale in Queensland

The community of Queensland contains the little Queensland Downs as part of the one big neighbourhood. Homes here are situated along the banks of the Bow River as it flows through the southeast of Calgary. The boundaries for this community are Bow Bottom Trail, Canyon Meadows Dr, and the river to the northeast. Although you find Diamond Cover here, it’s a separate community in and of itself.

The population of Queensland is now over 5000 residents, a consistent number of people living year, no matter what the turnover rate is. There are 1100 single-family homes here and a few hundred apartments and townhomes found throughout here as well. The median income is slightly higher here for the residents of Queensland as compared to other Calgarians. The community values education and strong employment, with high percentages of the population holding degrees and solid employment for long-term timeframes. The community seems to love where they live with statistics like 60% of the community living in Queensland for at least 5 years or more. Many have lived in their homes for 10-15+ years, a testament to how attractive living here is. Around 97% of the homes here with just handful that require repairs, a telling number even though the community has existed for 40-50 years. This is a home for young families, with households having more than one child living the house, on average. These families tend to be younger with a great number of preschool-aged kids living in the community.

The Queensland Community Association cares for everyone living here and wants to better the community by creating better bonds between people. The neighbourhood association does this with several initiatives and outreach events that target the community’s heart, like fmaily events, festivals, and programs aimed at adult education and young mothers. The association also stands up for residents by giving them a voice in front of city council.

As for firther amenities, the primary concerns of every resident is access to good shopping.
