Homes For Sale in Lincoln Park

The community of Lincoln Park is a southwestern community in Calgary. This neighbourhood is a mixture of options, from residential properties, to an educational facility to a large industrial area. Everybody wants a piece of Lincoln Park. The community is bordered by Crowchild Trail, Glenmore Trail, 37th St SW, and the former Currie Barracks on Richardson Way. Residential homes are spotty throughout the neighbourhood, spread around the university, behind businesses, and in corners of the neighbourhood.

The people of Lincoln Park can be hard to quantify. Many of the residents study the school, making statistics hard to enumerate with the constant turnover of housing. That does make for a constant supply of homes for sale in Lincoln Park. There are 2600 people currently living in this community.  Of those, 23% would count themselves as immigrants, people who have permanently migrated to Canada and not just temporarily studying at the university. The only options for housing are limited to apartments, townhouses, and a few duplexes. These are designed to accommodate the large student body that want to live here. The students also skew the numbers for age and income. Both are lower than the Calgary average, but that’s expected with a large percentage of single students living here. There are a few families, although that isn’t the most common household. Most people either live alone or live in a small family unit. Only one-quarter of the residents here have lived in their homes for over 5 years, but that does allow for plenty of opportunities for first-time homebuyers to enter the market in Lincoln Park.

The community is served by the Rutland Park Community Association, caring for this neighbourhood as well as the newly-formed Currie Barracks. Both communities benefit from this volunteer organization by their efforts to organize events, rally families together, and form one voice for the city planning committee.

Amenities near Lincoln Park Real Estate

There is much to be proud about when living in Lincoln Park. The first is of course the university. Mount Royal University is one of Calgary’s largest post-secondary institutions. It enrols 10,000 students every year, most of them seeking degrees in fields like Nursing, Education, or Communication. It has a very comprehensive campus that welcomes many students in modern facilities.

The community benefits from the roads that share the borders. Glenmore Trail and Crowchild Trail namely form major routes that connect this community with the rest of Calgary. Residents can quickly travel into the downtown core, a major perk for those working in the core business district. Shoppers can use Glenmore Trail to access either CF Chinook Centre or Westhills Towne Centre both of them major locations for shopping. Between them, there are hundreds of stores that offer dining, retail, and professional services for all.

North Glenmore Park is a great location for residents who wish to walk or bike along the reservoir. This park has kilometres of trails. And so does River Park which overlooks the Elbow River. It has off-leash areas as well as several paths for hiking and biking.
