Homes For Sale in Lakeview
The community of Lakeview sits in Calgary’s southwest quadrant. It is placed on the northern end of the Glenmore Reservoir. The community is created by the borders of Glenmore Trail, the Glenmore Reservoir, 37th St SW, and Crowchild Trail. Many of the homes have water view properties with great access to the trails that wander around the reservoir. There isn’t another community that borders it on either side and Glenmore Trail separates the community from Lincoln Park and the university.
The people of Lakeview are plentiful with 5500 residents living within its borders. The community is primarily made up of single-family homes, although there are other options as well. Modern apartments, tasteful townhomes, and duplexes are popping up all over the neighbourhood. These are new developments that have replaced some of the older properties that have stood for 50 years in this community. Only 13% of the community identifies as immigrants, first-generation Canadians. This is one of the smallest percentages in the city, although it does not hinder any nationalities from making their home here.
Only 11% of the neighbourhood doesn’t have a high school diploma, although that number also reflects the high school students living here still in school. The numbers reveal interesting statistics about the neighbourhood including the fact that over 70% of the neighbourhood has been unchanged in the last 5 years. When people move here, they tend to stay here. Settling down in Lakeview is a popular choice for families and active singles with children no longer at home. This is reflected in the statistic that the average age here is at least 10 years older than a normal Calgarian. The average wage is slightly higher than Calgary’s normal earner, although it’s in line with what we know about this neighbourhood, a more affluent, upscale community that attracts that type of resident.
The Lakeview Community Association offers its residents a chance to be a part of something great. They try to include many of the community’s neighbours in large events that gather everyone together. These initiatives include community clean-up days, charity walks and runs, and sport teams for young children. Families love the association’s efforts to link people together.
Amenities near Lakeview Real Estate
The Lakeview community is tucked away on its own, but that doesn’t seclude it from any major amenity. Namely, the reservoir. It’s one of the biggest features of this neighbourhood. Residents have direct access to North Glenmore Park, a large open area that has several trails and paths for people to use. The trails are great for biking and walking, year-round activities that are very popular with Lakeview people.
Weaselhead Flats is another population location for residents, a place with kilometres of trails through natural woodlands with many opportunities to spot wildlife. Residents love that deer, elk, bears, cougars, wolves, and beavers all find their home here, almost in the city limits.
Westhills Towne Centre, a major shopping centre in Westhills is located very near to Lakeview and offers several opportunities to shop, eat, and be entertained. The community uses this shopping centre in addition to the small plaza within the neighbourhood. Most people see no reason to shop anywhere else. Not far is the popular, trendy Marda Loop, a major destination for much of Calgary.
Transportation is easy along Sarcee Trail, Crowchild Trail and Glenmore Trail. Residents can quickly access the downtown core and everywhere else in Calgary with ease.

There are a few schools within the borders and many options outside the boundaries. Bishop Pinkham School is a Catholic faith-based Grades 7-9 school.
