The people here love living in their community, with almost half of them having lived in the are for the last 5 years or more. Within a few minutes, they can be on Bow Trail to head downtown for business, also access by 17th Ave close by. The community loves to use the nearby Optimist Athletic Park, a public sporting park that allows sports teams to rent out fields and diamonds for play. It has 3 fields, 8 ball diamonds, and many green spaces for training and practice matches.
For shopping, it really can’t be easier. Westhills Shopping Centre is right next door, encroaching on to the community itself. There really is everything in one place at Westhills and residents don’t feel the need to travel further out.
Within easy reach of the community is the 45th St C-Train station, a link to the downtown core for those who want to use the efficient Calgary transit system. This system has 118 kilometres of track that convey 100 million riders each and every year. Buses pass through the community of Glenbrook, ferrying passengers quickly to their destinations.
Schools near Glenbrook Homes for Sale
The school district in Glenbrook is enviable, a bevy of opportunities in the nearby communities. A.E. Cross School offers a unique Spanish bilingual program to meet the growing need for Spanish speakers in Calgary. Glenbrook School caters to students from Kindergarten through to Grade 6. St. Gregory School offers education from Kindergarten to Grade 9, taking them all the way to high school in a Catholic faith-based program that provides an alternative to the public school system. St. Thomas Aquinas School is also located in this community.
Given the high school options, Bishop Carroll High School is a great choice, one of the best high schools in the province according to the Fraser Institute. It performs better than many of the private schools nearby. Ernest Manning High School is very near as well, a school in the public system and also outperforms many private schools in the nearby regions.
