Homes For Sale in Diamond Cove
This small community is without a doubt one of Calgary’s most exclusive communities, especially in the south of Calgary. Along just a handful of streets, you’ll find large homes behind a gated community access point off the Deerfoot Trail. The community is bordered by Bow Bottom Trail, Deerfoot Trail, Anderson Rd, and the community of Queensland. Within these borders are contained some of Calgary’s most beautiful homes, a prestigious, exclusive community that is only inhabited by a few.
The community of Diamond Cove is only populated by over 700 residents. These are spread out in a couple hundred single-family homes. Most of these homes tend to be quite large, big estates with several thousand square feet, at any rate, much larger than your typical Calgarian home. The average income earned is nearly double that of an average resident as well. That does come from high education levels and strong careers in Calgary’s biggest industries.
There is a prestige to living here that attracts an older resident, usually with older families as well. The mature homes found here are from the 1970-80s when the neighbourhood was first established. Many homes have undergone renovations to modernise the area quite dramatically. The community is very established with 80% of the population having lived here for over 5 years. This is an unheard-of statistic to have such desirable homes. The population here is made up of older families, mature-aged couples, and elderly residents who have since retired from their careers.
The Queensland Diamond Cove Residents Association offers the combined communities something to unite everyone together. They make it their priority to care for the wellbeing of the community, cleaning it up, maintaining good relations, and representing it to the city council. There are enough programs and events geared towards the residents here that all neighbours feel as a part of the community as a whole.
Amenities near Diamond Cove Real Estate
The strength of the neighbourhood depends largely on what the community can provide those living here. The first attraction for residents to live here is the quick access along major transportation routes. The majority of people living here travel by car, and this is made easier living next to major routes like Anderson Rd and Deerfoot Trail. There is one entry and exit from the community, a gated access point for residents only to use, but it leads to the roads very quickly.
The community is too small to support any commercial enterprise, but at the same time, it does not need to. Major shopping is very close by at Southcentre Mall and Deerfoot Meadows. Within these two areas, we find a good portion of the services and shopping that residents prefer to use.
For recreation, the Bow River and Fish Creek Park provide enough activities and options to keep everyone active and mobile. Some of the best fishing in Western Canada can be found in the river that these homes overlook. Douglasbank Park is a popular locale for dog walkers and bikers, meandering along the river banks and through the trees.
Schools near Diamond Cove Homes for Sale
Although there are few families living here, there are many school options to choose from. Haultain Memorial School, Wilma Hansen School, and Don Bosco School are within a few minutes of any home here. Prince of Wales Elementary is located in Parkland very nearby. It offers classes from Kindergarten through to Grade 6 with exceptional parent-teacher-student relations. The Fraser Institute ranks the Prince of Wales school at 189th in the province against almost 800 other elementary schools. The closest high schools include Centennial High School and Dr EP Scarlett High School.
