This community lives in the edge of Fish Creek Park, north of the natural divide it causes to other communities in the southwest and southeast of Calgary. Its borders are 14th St SW, Macleod Trail, Anderson Rd, and Fish Creek Park. Within this self-contained square are homes of all sizes and styles. The older homes have good character while the newer homes offer modern conveniences. Parks and playgrounds can be found throughout the neighbourhood, lending it a friendly feel for families. But it’s also a great community for older couples and singles as well, offering the best in options and amenities.
By looking at the demographics of the community, we get a better idea of who chooses to live here and who it is ideally suited to accommodate. There are nearly 8000 residents in this community, many of them choosing to live in self-contained detached houses. In fact, you can find over 5000 unique homes here with several hundred more apartments, condos, and duplexes throughout the area. As for pricing, they vary wildly between the super affordable to the incredibly luxurious overlooking the provincial park. This includes representing Canyon Meadows in all matters before the city council. They hold programs and events like Stampede breakfasts, health and wellness programs, daycare, and adult education options.
Amenities near Canyon Meadows Real Estate
The community of Canyon Meadows has a great placement for commuters wanting to travel around the city. Macleod Trail and 14th St both offer quick options to access the downtown core in minutes. Anderson Rd connects quickly to Deerfoot for quick routes north and south in the city. The recent addition of the Canyon Meadows C-Train station has made commuting even easier along the public transit line. Over 118 km of the track get 100 million riders every year where they need to go.
Within the community itself, there are several natural parks such as the Babbeling Brook Park, a small brook and tree-lined park that winds through homes and empties into a man-made pond. Canyon Meadow is also home to the Canyon Meadows Aquatic & Fitness Centre, a great place for water activities.
The community is best known for enjoying access to Fish Creek Provincial Park, a huge provincial park with wildlife to explore for kilometres in either direction. Every time of the year is perfect for finding people walking, biking, or cross country skiing through the park.
Residents here live in one of the few communities that offer walking access to the best parts of the park. Southcentre Mall is very nearby with dozens of retail stores and food options at hand. Other shopping can easily be found along Macleod Trail. The prestigious Canyon Meadows Golf Club is located right nearby with some of the best golfing in the city exclusively for members.
