The small community is pretty well isolated by it’s position. Much of the neighbourhood’s border are made up by the reservoir on which it resides. There are natural divisions in the other roads which separate this from other communities like Pump Hill next door. 90th Ave SW and Glenmore Landing made up the other borders. The community sits alongside the South Glenmore Park area which again separates the community from any other housing.

The community of Bayview is very well understood when we look at the population of people living here. There are just a few hundred residents in the 250 dwellings established here. Fewer than 700 residents call this their home, a number that doesn’t change from year to year due to the small size of the community and a tendency for residents to stay here once they find homes here. Over one quarter of the population are first-generation Canadians with backgrounds from mainly Asian and European descent. We can ascertain that most of the population here have great careers with the average wage earned more than doubles what other Calgarians make here. This doesn’t make it the top earning community, but very close with other neighbourhoods like Mayfair, Bel-Aire, or Pump Hill. Nearly three-quarters hold a post-secondary degree of some sort, the vast majority of the working-age adult living here. Find a home here and you won’t want to move. Over 80% of the community has lived in Bayview for over 5 years, many of those for several decades. Mainly, you’ll find single family homes here with a few townhouses spread throughout. These homes are large estates with several homes overlooking the reservoir with 7-figure price tags.   

The Bayview community depends on the tri-community association of Palliser, Pump HIll and Bayview residents. This triple threat offers programs and events catered to the crowd here. This includes markets for residents, youth programs, a casino night, and several individual classes available to the wider public.

Amenities near Bayview Real Estate

The community of Bayview has plenty to offer those living here. With the Reservoir so close, its natural that many residents choose this as their main source of activity outside the home. The South Glenmore Park is a natural start to the trail that runs around the reservoir. It’s popular amongst bikers and runners. Year-round, this path is popular with residents here. The Reservoir also has boating opportunities in the summer. The yearly Dragon Boat Festival runs right past many homes here.

The community has several options for shopping, the main being the smaller Glenmore Landing right next door and the Chinook Centre mall not 5 minutes away. It helps that this community sits near to 14th St SW, giving the residents quick access to major roads like Glenmore Trail and Crowchild Trail to get around the city. Just over the reservoir is Heritage Park, a popular destination that celebrates the historical side of Calgary.

The Rockyview General Hospital is located right nearby, a world-class facility with several specialists that welcome patients from all over the world. This facility has recently undergone major renovations to be at the forefront of medicine and treatment.

Schools near Bayview Homes for Sale

Although there are no schools within the community itself, there are several options nearby for families to choose from. Some of these schools include Nellie McClung School, Louis Riel Elementary School, and St Benedict Elementary School which has students from Kindergarten through to Grade 6 in a faith-based learning environment. Bishop Grandin High School and Henry Wise Wood High School are both zoned for students living in Bayview. They represent excellent choices with the International Baccalaureate program as well as good fine arts and athletics programs.  

The Fraser Institute ranking system covers the province of Alberta in high schools and elementary schools up to Grade 6. Bishop Grandin is ranked in the top 100 schools in Alberta while Henry Wise Wood is ranked in the top 50 schools with its prestigious academic programs.
