Pump Hill Houses For Sale

The community of Pump Hill is located in Calgary’s southwest along 14th St SW. The community is a private neighbourhood, accessed by a few roads and meant to be very exclusive and isolated. This creates the perfect location for many of Calgary’s most prestigious home owners. There is a prestige that comes with owning an address in this neighbourhood. The boundaries are  90th Ave, 19th St SW, 14th St SW, and Southland Dr. You’ll notice that homes and streets are are very spacious, spread out to encourage more privacy and more land per house.

The neighbourhood of Pump Hill is unique in Calgary and by looking at who lives there, we can determine more about its nature and value. There are just 1500 residents living here, mainly living in their single-family homes. You can find townhouses and apartments here, but they are in short supply. The community has a large emphasis on space, and in the homes, you’ll see that every house has ample yard space. These homes can be palatial mansion or modest homes, but there is enough room to stretch out and feel private. People living here are, on average, at least 20 years older than the average Calgarian, this being a community become established and remain.

The statistics tell us that over two-thirds of the people living here have been in Pump Hill for at least 5 years. We also know this is an affluent area, residents making more on average than other Calgarians throughout the city. With only 8% of the adult-aged population not holding a high school diploma, education is a major factor for residents here. This also happens to be a very concentrated Jewish community, more so than other neighbourhoods around here. The Calgary Jewish Community Centre is located right here for that population.

The Pump Hill residents are served by the tri-neighbourhood association covering Bayview, Palliser, and Pump Hill. This association serves to bring people together, unite the community, and offer a voice for the city council. They bring residents together and create initiatives to build bonds here, such as breakfasts, art galleries, family fun nights, and community-preservation events.

Pump Hill Amenities

The community enjoys a healthy number of benefits living here, once of which is the access to South Glenmore Park and the Glenmore Reservoir. Living around the reservoir has always been a status symbol, and that’s true as well here in Pump Hill. The community enjoys spending their afternoons and evening strolling around the lake and enjoying the views over the waters.

14th St provides an access into the downtown and major roads like Glenmore Trail and Crowchild Trail. Commuters can use this to easily get around the city without facing major traffic snarls. Transportation will also improve as the city completes the ring road in 2022 which will pass close by to Pump Hill and allow residents to get anywhere in the city easily.

Residents value their proximity to places like Glenmore Landing, a shopping plaza right next door, as well as the Rockyview General Hospital. The hospital is one of the premier medical facilities in all of Canada and has world-class physicians and specialists working there. They enjoy a reputation that welcomes doctors from all over the world to visit and study here.

Pump Hill Schools

Even though the community has an older age, there are still several families living here. And because of the high demand for good education, this community is well situated to provide that. It offers John Ware School and St Benedict Elementary School for elementary-aged students. Both schools offer good education from Kindergarten to Grade 6, one in the public system and one in the Catholic faith-based program. Other schools nearby include Haysboro School, Nellie McClung School, and Braeside School.
