The little hamlet of Priddis Greens lies along Highway 22X, around 5 kms out from the main town of Priddis. This loose collection of homes is based around the popular Priddis Greens Golf and Country Club which many residents love. The community is very small, with only 1500 people in total living in this area. The majority of those live on two streets, Sunrise Way and Sunset Way, the two main roads that can be found within the golf course grounds.
The little hamlet is a tightly knit area, many of the residents knowing each other personally and caring for each other’s needs very well. The county of Macleod looks after all services such as waste disposal and snow removal. Other services are up to the individual owner. Homes here are luxurious, backing on to one of the most prestigious courses in Alberta. Many of these houses have 7-figure price tags and can be restrictive for the uninitiated. Other acreages dot the area surrounding the golf course as well with plenty of land available. Several ranches can be found in the vicinity of Priddis Greens. Homes here enjoy unparalleled access to the wilderness of Alberta with wildlife such as cougars, bears and moose being common sights to see. People here have an older demographic, a high percentage of them having retired from their careers and with older families with children who have left home. The community is pretty well tucked in to the golf course, tied to the events and tournaments that it offers. Many residents here hold memberships to the course, an exclusive club that has an extensive waiting list for new members. As for other amenities, Priddis Greens has the best of Southern Alberta at its door. Bragg Creek and the Kananaskis are just minutes away. There are several biking and cross country skiing trails that are found in the forests around the community.
Transportation is easy along the Highway 22X that will soon join up to the Stoney Trail Ring Road, sue to be complete in 2020. The community will benefit greatly from this road and the access it will bring to the city. The city limits are within 10 minutes of any home here, and major shopping is located just 15 minutes away. Commuting isn’t a problem for residents here, often travelling once or twice a day into Calgary. Highway 22 travels south and allows residents to visit nearby towns like Millarville, Turner Valley, and Black Diamond.
Priddis Greens Schools
Although fairly private, there are a few good schools within easy reach for families here. Banded Peak School in Bragg Creek is a popular choice for many students all around this area. Tanbridge Academy is located on the way into Calgary and has an excellent reputation as a private school. Glenmore Christian Academy in Bridlewood also is recognized by Priddis Greens residents as a worthy private school. The closest public schools include Bridlewood School, Bishop O’Byrne High School, Holy Child School, and Father James Whelihan.
Banded Peak School in nearby Bragg Creek has around 250 enrolled students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 with a Fraser Institute ranking of 273rd in the province. Bishop O’Byrne High School is a fairly new high school with a good reputation, receiving a ranking of 56th in the province. Priddis Greens residents can also choose several private schools outside of the city that have prestigious reputations as well.
