Its position along the Ebow River puts it in contact with kilometres of walking and biking trails. These trails extend either way along the river and all the way into the downtown area.

Parkhill does have great access for commuters. Macleod Trails extends both north and south, offering commuters just a few minutes’ drive to the downtown business district or south towards shopping and outlets. Because of this, the community houses several car dealerships and auto repair shops.
CF Chinook Centre is very close, offering 250 stores and restaurant options to the residents. There are theatres, dining options, and high-end labels all within the retail space of the largest mall in Calgary. The C-Train station of 39th Ave gets commuters into the city in 4 stops, a quick journey along with a clean, efficient public transportation system.
But if the weather is nice, Parkhill can walk to 4th St SW or 17th Ave SW, popular shopping districts with unique stores and restaurants. These streets are vibrant and full of culture. The lifestyle here is all about the nightlife and entertainment, the centre for the whole of Calgary.
Within Parkhill itself, there are no schools. But look beyond the borders to find several school options in this district that serve the exacting needs of parents and students. Elboya School is nearby, a French immersion school for students aged from Kindergarten through to Grade 6.
The nearby high schools of Saint Mary's High School and Western Canada High School also represent some of the best senior high education in the city. Rideau Park School is an elementary and junior high school as well, offering one location for 10 years of schooling. Rideau Park is among the best elementary schools in the province, ranking in the top 20 schools overall. The school, with its strong ESL programs and excellent focus on academic success, produces results in their students that push them towards greatness.
