This is a very small neighbourhood compared to other communities, so we can get a greater sense of the people here because they represent a smaller cross section. There are just over 3000 residents in Palliser. They are made up of predominantly native Calgarians with around 20% immigrants. The population here live in apartments first with single-family homes second to those condominium developments. There are a few townhomes and duplexes found here as well. The position of Palliser makes it easy to commute, especially important for those who have to travel for work or school. But this will become even easier in the near future when the ring road passes right by the community when it’s completed in 2022. The neighbourhood enjoys a sense of privacy while keeping closely connected to the rest of Calgary.
For recreation, the nearby Glenmore Reservoir provides that in abundance. South Glenmore Park is the starting point for many residents who want to run, bike, or walk around the lake. The pathway system is maintained year round and used that whole time as well. Other little parks can be found in the area with good access to playgrounds everywhere. The Glenmore Landing plaza is a popular shopping complex with a self-contained compound that has everything that residents need for their daily use.
Discerning parents want to know about schooling options here, and this is a great place to be situated if you have school-aged children.
