North Haven is a suburban community in Calgary’s northwest quadrant. The area is more colloquially known as the areas of North Haven and North Haven Upper. This is more a local terminology as the neighbourhood is formally recognized as one community. The borders for North Haven are 14th St and Nose Hill Park on one side and John Laurie Blvd along the other. This forms a neat pocket of housing options that sits alongside one of the largest parks in Calgary.
The demographics of this community tell more about the people who live there. 2500 people call North Haven their home. The real estate in North Haven is more favoured to the single-family housing. The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology is also very close along 14th St NW. North Haven Schools
North Haven is ideally located in the school districts of the northwest. It has several excellent located close by. This includes North Haven Elementary, a Kindergarten through to Grade 6 school with a great reputation in the neighbourhood. There is also Highwood School, Corpus Christi School, and King George Elementary which offers a complete French immersion program for fully bilingual education. High School options include St Francis High School, John G Diefenbaker High School, and William Aberhart High School.
William Aberhart is one of the best high schools in the city and in the province. It currently ranks 11th on the official Fraser Institute ranking of the province. It has an advance program plus several international students attending every year. Diefenbaker High School is also very good with a prestigious International Baccalaureate program that accelerates students in their academic studies.
