Martindale is a community in the northeast of Calgary, a neighbourhood that was set apart for residential use some 50 years ago But it wasn’t until the mid-to-late 80s that houses were first built up here. The borders of the neighbourhood are Metis Trail, Falconridge Blvd, 64th Ave NE, and 80th Ave NE.

We see that the Martindale Community Association has been very active in years of late, The association, run entirely by volunteers and locals, is a professionally active group that wants to build better bonds between neighbours, foster good relationships, and strengthen the community as a whole. Besides running several events and programs throughout the year, including several religious festivals, they also help present a united front for the city council and matters pertaining to the community.

Because of the high number of parents and students, this population treasures good education. Martindale residents can choose from Crossing Park School and Manmeet Singh Bhullar School, both excellent schools within the neighbourhood itself. The newly-built Nelson Mandela High School also sits in this community. The high school has a number of classes and programs aimed at the higher-than-average immigrant student population. It currently has not received any ranking by the Fraser Institute.
For elementary schools, Cross Park offers classes from Kindergarten to Grade 6 and is ranked by the Fraser Institute as 631st in the province. Manmeet Singh is a new school that does a wonderful job integrating many different cultures in the classroom.
