Martindale Houses For Sale

Martindale is a community in the northeast of Calgary, a neighbourhood that was set apart for residential use some 50 years ago But it wasn’t until the mid-to-late 80s that houses were first built up here. The housing here is a mixture of the classic looks with a good repsentation of modern housing as well. The borders of the neighbourhood are Metis Trail, Falconridge Blvd, 64th Ave NE, and 80th Ave NE.

The community of Martindale has a population of over 15,000 residents, certainly making it the most populous in the area, as well as the densest per capitas as well. Other large communities like Evergreen or Edgemont have large footprints with homes spread out over the space. We find that the vast majority, almost 90% of the population live in single-family homes. The detached house is found on every street and road in this community. Only a handful of other options like duplexes and townhouses can be found. This is a community that was designed for houses and families. For the Martindale resident, they tend to earn slightly less, on average, than other Calgarian community residents. The population is very diverse, represented by at least 50% immigrants, with the majority coming from alternate countries and nations around the world. Over 70% of the population is a visible minority. Of those living here, over 50% of the population has chosen to remain in Martindale long term, 5 years or more. The average household is a family with a size of at least 2 children at home, often times more. We also know that this community is a young neighbourhood, many of the resident here several years younger than the city average of 35 years old.

We see that the Martindale Community Association has been very active in years of late, The association, run entirely by volunteers and locals, is a professionally active group that wants to build better bonds between neighbours, foster good relationships, and strengthen the community as a whole. Besides running several events and programs throughout the year, including several religious festivals, they also help present a united front for the city council and matters pertaining to the community.

Martindale Schools 

Because of the high number of parents and students, this population treasures good education. Martindale residents can choose from Crossing Park School and Manmeet Singh Bhullar School, both excellent schools within the neighbourhood itself. The newly-built Nelson Mandela High School also sits in this community. The high school has a number of classes and programs aimed at the higher-than-average immigrant student population. It currently has not received any ranking by the Fraser Institute. 

For elementary schools, Cross Park offers classes from Kindergarten to Grade 6 and is ranked by the Fraser Institute as 631st in the province. Manmeet Singh is a new school that does a wonderful job integrating many different cultures in the classroom.
