This small community is set along a section of 17th Ave SW. The community runs from College Lane at the end of Western Canada High School’s campus to the 14th St turn off. The community only goes a couple blocks back from the main street, but they have a good communal feel nonetheless. The neighbourhood is older in style with homes in Lower Mount Royal with a lot of character and class. Lower Mount Royal is a relatively small community in size compared with the rest of Calgary. There is over 3000 residents here although in a very densely populated area. The vast majority (91%) of the dwellings are apartments, a mixture of low-rise older style and newer, modern deluxe varieties. The rest are a few detached homes, townhomes, and basement suites. The demographics skew heavily toward the singles and couples with no children at home. This area is more geared towards singles and professionals working close to the downtown core. This association is affiliated with both Upper and Lower Mount Royal residents, a large section of this part of Calgary. Lower Mount Royal is perfectly situated along the main drag of shopping and culture within Calgary.
