Livingston Houses For Sale 

Livingston is one of the newest communities, recently annexed and developed by Calgary as part of a massive initiative to expand in the northwest of the city. It sits on the northern edge of Stoney Trail and its development coincides with the completion of the ring road in 2021. Residents here will not feel isolated or alone, but the ring road will help connect everyone here with the rest of Calgary. The community will eventually extend north all the way to 176th Ave NW, with 15th St and 6th ST NW forming the other borders. It will place the residents within striking distance of Airdrie and Balzac.

Livingston is much like the surrounding neighbouring communities of Evanston, Carrington and Coventry Hills. As it is still developing and growing, we draw many of the conclusions from the those neighbourhoods that will reflect its nature and atmosphere. Its suburban in feel, very spacious, and offers different options for housing. The predominant choices are single-family houses, large and spacious to moderately priced and reasonably sized. Families have a chance to stretch out and feel unrestricted. There will also be a number of smaller townhomes and apartments, modern and contemporary with all the amenities needed. There will also be luxury apartments available. This area, also called Calgary’s “new north” has a large population of immigrants seeking out good lots with spacious housing options. The age bracket is considerably younger, with a developing and maturing feel. The expansive neighbourhood will accommodate thousands of residents and be one of the largest communities in this quadrant of Calgary.

The Livingston community will be in coordination with the Northern Hills Community Association, which cares for many of the neighbourhoods in this area. They offer a number of community events that bridge the gap between communities and the people living there.

Livingston Amenities

The designers and developers of Livingston are interested in creating a space that will welcome people. That’s why there is an entire shopping complex that will feature at the centre of the neighbourhood. Until that is completely finished, residents have many other choices to use. It’s the closest neighbourhood to CrossIron Mills, a single-level shopping complex that is the largest in Alberta. The shopping here covers retail stores, restaurants, professional services, and several warehouse options. For commutes, Livingston will have instant access to two of Calgary’s busiest roads, the Stoney Trail ring road as well as Deerfoot Trail. These two roads open up access to the rest of the city for anybody living here.

For recreation, Livingston residents can use the many new venues in the northwest. One popular choice is the Rocky Ridge Recreation Facility. This brand new centre features large fully-equipped fitness centres, a swimming pool, a leisure pool with wave system, ice rinks, 3 gymnasiums for sports, indoor running track, and many studios for classes and public programs. The neighbourhood also has several trails and paths planned for the community, reducing fences and widening the space between houses to allow for more communal aspects.

Livingston Schools

There are yet to be built any schools in Livingston, although many are scheduled to be built I the coming years. This developing community can use many of the schools in the surrounding areas, none very far at all from Livingston. This includes Coventry Hills School, Buffalo Rubbing Stone School, and Captain Nichola Goddard School. These elementary and junior high schools have large capacities for many school kids to attend. Notre Dame High School is close by, offering a faith-based high school program that excels in the Catholic school system. St Jerome Elementary and St Clare School both also offer that faith-based approach to elementary schools.
