Inglewood Houses For Sale

Inglewood sits on the eastern edge of Calgary’s downtown core, just east of Fort Calgary and 7th St SE. The community shares its border with the Bow Rover for all its edge, and has kilometres of walking trails to use and enjoy. The community is a shared district of businesses and homes with major avenues and roads crossing through it. Blackfoot Trail and 17th Ave SW are two major avenues to get residents in and out of the community and elsewhere in the city. The neighbourhood is dominated by large trees, wide spaces, green parks, a rushing river, and a thriving community feel.

The people in Inglewood tell a story that has changed since its inception over 140 years ago. The community continues to retain its links to the past with housing that reflects that older style. Houses have an old-world charm while being modern and contemporary inside. The residents here, 3600 of them, live primarily in these stand-alone houses, single-family homes detached from each other. There are also a mixture of apartments, townhomes, duplexes, and many modern, luxury condos for the upper class to enjoy. Inglewood residents make just below the city average in income. 50% of the population here have lived her for 5 years or longer. Many choose to stay because of the immense value of living in Inglewood. 70% of the population hold post-secondary degrees while 90% have at least their high school diploma. It’s a well-educated, well-established community that people love to live in.

The Inglewood Community Association offers optional memberships to its residents, a chance to become a certified part of the community, working to advance its interests along with the rest fo the city. The association offers night markets, block parties, community clean-up efforts, and much more for the residents to get connected with each other.

Inglewood Amenities

The main and driving force of living in Inglewood is primarily the location. It’s a prime spot in Calgary and the reason why it was developed as the first neighbourhood of the newly-formed city of Calgary. It’s position along the Bow River offers inhabitants a chance to walk and bike the paths along the river, enjoying spectacular views of the water and the city while they do. Pearce Estate Park along the curve of the Bow River is a public space, a reconstructed wetland area with a fish hatchery included on the grounds. The park includes ponds and a stream, cross-country skiing, a playground and several paths to enjoy. A quick drive along 9th Ave SW puts residents in the city core in 5 minutes. They also have unspoiled access to Deerfoot Trail to get to the airport in 20 minutes.

Inglewood homes for sale are in short supply, partially due to its central position to many major Calgary locations such as the Calgary Zoo just across the river or Telus Spark not 5 minutes away. These popular spots are Calgary hotspots, destinations for many of Calgary’s families. Hunt House is a historically significant structure, one of only 25 homes built before 1882 in Alberta and a link to the past of Calgary.  Shopping is easy in Inglewood with quick access to the best Calgary has to offer, the Core Shopping Centre in the middle of downtown. There is also a weekly farmer’s market at the corner of Blackfoot Trail and 26th Ave.
