What is there to do at Inglewood Bird Sanctuary & Nature Centre?

Inglewood is a resting place for migratory birds. Bring your binoculars and be ready to spot Mourning Warbler, Western-Wood Pewee and Hairy Woodpecker, among others. The kind of birds you can see varies from season to season.

You can find diverse wildlife at this sanctuary any time of the year. But the best time to spot birds is definitely during springtime.

If you are here during late fall, you will find an uncommon gull species. During fall migration, you can find many warblers. If you visit the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary during winter, you will find many tame black-capped chickadees and thousands of mallards.

The 2-kilometre trails through open grasslands and forests are open from dawn to dusk every day of the year. You can do a complete circle around the lake for a full experience, as each side’s views are different and all beautiful.

The Nature Centre boasts an exhibit hall, educational resources for families and wildlife lovers, meeting space and records recent sightings in the area. When you are there, make sure to stop and visit the Inglewood Wildlands. This is a calm nature preserve with multiple river views, paths for walking & bicycling and many rest spots along the way.

The park also features Colonel Walker House, Picnic tables, TD Outdoor Learning Centre, and Washrooms. People can also celebrate their birthdays and events here.
