The town of High River is located south of Calgary, just off the Highway 2 exit and a few minutes drive along Highway 23. Several little communities can be found here, many of them centered around the farming and agricultural industries that many residents are involved with. The nature of the town is quiet and peaceful. There are just 13,500 residents here, a drop since the flood of 2013, but that number has steadily been growing again. The community is strong and doesn’t want to relinquish their hope that this town provides them.

High River Schools
The community of High River looks after the children very well with excellent school options. Some of the schools here include Spitzee Elementary School, Ecole Joe Clark School, Highwood High School, and Holy Spirit Academy. These schools have a small town vibe with an emphasis on smaller class sizes and more personal attention from teachers. This is what keeps the community together and keeps young families coming back here again and again.
The Highwood High School is currently ranked 112th in the province, according to the Fraser Institute ranking system. The Catholic school system in High River is also very strong with a great faith-based alternative to the public system proving equal or greater education opportunities to the residents here.
