The community of Harvest Hills is located on the border of Calgary’s northwest. It’s position along the Deerfoot Trail places it on the edge, almost exactly north of the city centre. It’s bounded by Country Hills Blvd, Harvest Hills Blvd, and 96th Ave NW. The communities around it include Panorama Hills and Country Hills. Most of the neighbourhood is residential housing, but on the eastern edge are several open spaces, parks, and trails for residents to use.
Around 7500 residents call Harvest Hills their home. This number has grown with the recent expansion of the neighbourhood into the former golf course that took up much of the footprint of this community. The residents here tend to earn more on average than their city counterparts. The community is made up of one-quarter immigrants, people from many different nationalities who love the environmental feel and suburban quality of the homes. Of those homes, 87% are single-family dwellings. These range from large and stately houses to quieter moderately-priced houses. Many of them have extensive yards and lots of land. There is an assortment of duplexes, contemporary apartments and townhouses to choose from for the first-time buyers. The neighbourhood does not have many educated, only half of them holding a degree or certificate above a high school diploma. Two-thirds of the community have lived here for over years, proving beyond a doubt how popular and desirable the people here are.
The North Hills Community Association covers over the many neighbourhoods in this region. The community is served well by the event, the programs, the courses, the sports, and the initiatives that this association offers.
