Fairview Houses For Sale

The community of Fairview was first used for homes in the mid 1960s. As Calgary grew outward, the land, which was already being used for many shops and restaurants, was further developed to add thousands of homes here. The community is bordered by Heritage Dr, Macleod Trail, Blackfoot Trail, and Glenmore Trail. Although some of the land has been designated for industrial and commercial use, there are several homes for sale in Fairview

There are 3800 people living in this community, spread over several hundred homes in the neighbourhood. The predominant choice for residents here is to live in a single-family home. The homes here are still standing from when they were first built. It adds a distinct character to the community, and while the exteriors have remained unchanged, several houses have undergone extreme renovations to modernise and update the interiors. You will also find several apartments in the neighbourhood to offer yet another option for housing here. The community has more than 0one-fifth of first-generation Canadians living here, and the residents tend to make slightly less than their Calgarian counterparts. The challenge for residents is that only 50% of them hold some form of tertiary degree, limiting their options. But we see a strong number of the population living here gainfully employed in meaningful careers. Many of them choose to commute to work using public transportation which is incredibly convenient and close. Over half the people living here have remained in their homes for over 5 years and choose to remain in a desirable part of Calgary’s southwest.

The Fairview Community Association, which is organised and run by locals, has been operating in the community for decades. They have family fun nights, Stampede breakfasts, and community clean-up days to care for their environment. Many of the residents belong to a membership which grants access to the events and gets them a monthly newsletter to learn more about matters that apply directly to them.

Fairview Amenities

As for amenities, it’s pretty much the key feature of living here. Macleod Trail forms the central hub for much of the offerings that Fairview uses. Chinook Centre is a major mall with hundreds of retail stores and services within the center. Many residents are within walking distance of a mall that welcomes Calgarians from all over the city.  But the remainder of the Macleod Trail shopping continues in either direction, allowing a multitude of choices for residents living here. Deerfoot Meadows is also near at hand with major brand names, outlet stores, and unique retail shops in one large plaza complex.

Transportation is very easy living here. Should you choose to find real estate in Fairview, you’ll appreciate the C-Train station which is very close at hand. Within a few stops, residents can be in the downtown core for work or entertainment. The community enjoys access to Glenmore Trail as well, with great access to anywhere they need to go on this major roadway.

The Bow River is a popular choice for walking trails. Carburn Park is one example of a public park that has pathways for bikers and dog walkers. Further out, we also find residents enjoying the Maple Ridge Golf Course and the Glenmore Reservoir for outdoor activities.

Fairview Schools

Because there are many parents with children, the school zones matter to Fairview residents. Fairview School and Le Roi Daniels Elementary are located in Fairview. These Daniels Elementary offers early French immersion programs that appeal to students from many neighborhoods surrounding here. The community also loves the neighbouring schools of St Matthew School and Lord Beaverbrook High School. Beaverbrook offers a many programs in advanced academics, athletics and fine arts. High school students have many choices for their future plans on the course they choose. The Fraser Institute has a ranking for Beaverbrook of 133rd in the province. It also ranks the elementary schools such as St Matthew at 149th against over 800 other elementary schools in the province.
