It even hosts community-wide events such as a casino fundraiser, an artisan market, a community clean-up day, and a parade of garage sales with all of Dalhousie.

The neighbourhood is located along Highway 1A, John Laurie Blvd, Sarcee Trail and Shaganappi Trail. Residents can access any corner of Calgary easily and swiftly with their commuting options. Dalhousie also sits adjacent to Nose Hill Park, a popular recreational area for residents to enjoy.

Dalhousie Schools

It’s prime real estate for Dalhousie residents to enjoy great schooling options. The communities of Dalhousie and Brentwood have excellent schools that service the community well. These schools meet and exceed the needs of any student, and children travel from all over the northwest of Calgary to attend schools here.

The schools in Dalhousie are HD Cartwright Junior High, West Dalhousie School, a complete Kindergarten to Grade 6 elementary school, and St Dominic School, an elementary in the Catholic system. Outside of Dalhousie, there is Sir Winston Churchill High School, Simon Fraser School and Captain John Palliser school. These schools are Calgary’s best and offer a wide range of programs and education models to choose from.

West Dalhousie Elementary has ranked high in the last 5 years, reaching 167th in the province. It has a large population of ESL students and a strong focus on Special Needs education. St Dominic ranks a respectable 128th in the province. Sir Winston Churchill High School is an excellent choice for senior high, ranking 15th last posting, and as high as 7th in the entire province in the last 5 years. It’s dedication to academic excellence is shown in its offered athletic programs, arts programs, and strong International Baccalaureate program, a program offered to top students around the world. Sir Winston Churchill has students from Edgemont, Dalhousie, Brentwood, Varsity, and a couple more northwest Calgary communities.
