Crescent Heights Neighbourhood Information

Crescent Heights is a large neighbourhood in size. It is so large that it sits in both the northwest and northwest of Calgary, a feature unique to this community. Sitting alongside some of Calgary’s major roads, it offers excellent access anywhere in the city and beyond. To the north is Trans-Canada Highway, a quick exit to the west of Calgary towards the mountains. To the south is the Bow River, Memorial Drive and the downtown core. Historic Edmonton Trail makes the eastern border while 4th St NW forms the other side.

The community houses approximately 6000 people from many ethnic backgrounds. One-quarter of the residents are first-generation Canadians, recent immigrants who live close to the downtown for all the amenities that it offers. The average income is slightly lower than Calgary’s normal earners. Many of Crescent Heights’ residents are well-educated with a post-secondary degree in some field. The real estate in Crescent Heights is mixed. 40% of the homes are single-family houses, many of them currently undergoing some form of renovation and upgrade. The community has shown a lot of promise to developers and investors seeking to improve the neighbourhood from its historic roots. There are also apartments, many of them also upgraded to create new luxury dwellings close to the downtown core. This is a common choice for young urban professionals working in the Calgary downtown business districts.

The Crescent Heights Community Association uses membership fees from the residents to offer many cultural and community programs. They offer yoga classes, facility rentals, courses, early childcare, community gatherings, and much more.  A community newsletter keeps everyone informed about how to get involved with their neighbours around them.
