Coral Springs Houses For Sale

The community of Coral Springs is located in the northeast of Calgary, on the edge of the Stoney Trail ring road. The community was first established in 1991 with homes being built up until the mid 2000s. The community is still fairly new, but has seen a good growth in the past 2 decades. The borders of the neighbourhood are 64th Ave NE, Stoney Trail ring road, McKnight Blvd, and 68th St NE.

By examining the census data collected by the city of Calgary, we can examine who lives here, what they prefer in their homes and how you’ll fit in to this community. There are over 6000 residents in a community that doesn’t feel too large. It’s dominated by several single-family homes, making up an incredible 95% of the choices for housing here. You’ll also find a few townhouses to choose from as well. The immigrant population here is very large, with a proportion that’s among the highest in the city. 52%, or the vast majority, of the community is a first-generation Canadian, with several nationalities represented here. The main ethnicity is Indian and Filipino, with a few schools and stores in the area catering to that population. The home size tends to be larger and younger, many younger families living longside older families with children in their teens. The households here tend to make less than their Calgarian counterparts with incomes lower all around, but that also correlates with a slightly decreased education rate often found in communities with high immigrant populations. The neighbourhood has a very high longevity with over 75% of the population living here for over 5 years.

The Coral Springs Community Association is highly targeted to cater for the very specific needs of the neighbourhood. This includes much more than the standard family-fun days and community clean-up events. This also includes allowing the facility hall to be used for religious celebrations and festivals, a popular occurrence among immigrant populations. This has played a major part for the neighbourhoods success at keeping residents living in Coral Springs for longer than many other neighborhoods can claim.

Coral Springs Amenities

The community is situated along Stoney Trail, a ring road which connects most of the city to the rest of the communities here. Coral Springs residents have McKnight Blvd as well to get to major amenities close at hand such as the shopping or the airport. Speaking of the airport, the Calgary International Airport is just a few minutes away and residents who frequently travel value the proximity to this major airport.

There are a few local businesses in the area, supported and operated by the locals living here. As for other opportunities, the residents like to use either CrossIron Mills or the McKnight Village Shopping Centre. These facilities contain just about every offering needed by residents for shopping, restaurants, and professional services as well.

The community has the Don Hartman Sporting Complex which they use for exercise and entertainment. The facility has a fully-equipped gym, a fitness studio, a huge gym for badminton, basketball, or any other sports and a cafe to enjoy the company of the neighbours.

Coral Springs Schools

For schooling, it matters to the residents here that they have good access to great schools. You’ll find Monsignor A J Hetherington ElementarySt John XXIII SchoolFalconridge School, Grant MacEwan School, and Bishop McNally High School. Most of these schools include programs for ESL classes and cater to the high immigrant proportion of students in their classes. The Fraser Institute ranks Bishop McNally as 170th in the province against many other high schools in Alberta. The Fraser Institute also ranks the Hetherington Elementary as 800+ other schools in Alberta, a very good school that many local students attend. The school welcomes many children from different nationalities.
