The community is just over 2000 people in size. They have a much higher income than the Calgary average, making this a luxury neighbourhood with a premier price tag on many homes.

Those housing options include single-family homes that are large estates with prestigious views to smaller moderately priced houses. A smattering of townhomes and apartments line the streets, these options allowing first-home buyers an entry into this neighbourhood. The average age reflects the community, an older, more established age in the households here. Young families are few while older families are more typical of the residents. The average education level is very high with three-quarters of the population holding post-secondary degrees and certificates. Sarcee Trail and 17th Ave both form major access points to the city and beyond. Commuters have easy access to the city centre and the core business district. Sarcee Trail connects residents to other areas easily. The Sirocco C-Train station connects residents with the rest of the city along 118 km of track in a clean, efficient public transit system that serves 100 million riders every year.

Shopping can be done just down the road at Westhills Towne Centre, a massive complex with hundreds of stores and restaurants and professional services. This shopping area is more than enough to satisfy any shopper or necessity. Further smaller options can be found lining 17th Ave, a major hub for trendy retail and quirky shopping. Vibrant and lively, this street is always a popular location for residents of Christie Park.

The community has several trails that wind their way through the park. This includes paths for walking, biking, and cross country skiing. The paths continue into other communities, linking up residents in ways that other communities in Calgary do not offer. Shouldice Athletic Park is located close by and offers many sports fields and opportunities to play games in the summer and winter.

Christie Park Schools

Christie Park schools include Olympic Heights School for elementary aged students from Kindergarten through to Grade 6. Beyond that, there is the John Costello Catholic School, Ernest Manning High School, Westgate Elementary, and Vincent Massey School. Earnest Manning High School has a great ranking according to the Fraser Institute. It currently sits in the top 30 schools in the province and over 1500 students are enrolled to capture that academic success. Olympic Heights offers great schooling, ranking as high as 65th in the previous years compared to other schools in the province. John Costello is a Catholic system school with a top 100 ranking as well.
