Places that are Dog-Friendly in Calgary

In part 1 of our #stayingathome series, we discussed New Puppy Training. Now that you have some tips to help you on your journey with a new pup, let's get to the fun part! Here in Calgary, there are plenty of dog-friendly places to take your growing pup to.
Where are good places to visit in Calgary with a new puppy?
- Nose Hill Park - on top of the hill is a large off-leash area that is plenty big enough for a young pup to explore. This one is mostly grass, brush, and dirt.
- Bowmont Park Off-Leash Area - near the river, this fenced park is great if you live in the NW. Though some parts of the fence no longer meet the ground, so keep a close eye on your pup at the south end of the park
- Edworthy Off-Leash Park - Here is where you can take your pup on a forest adventure close to home. There are plenty of trees and hills to explore and lots of private spots if you are looking for your own area to play.
- Auburn Bay Dog Park - This well-maintained park has lots of trails and open areas to take your dog for a walk. They even have water for hot summer days to keep your dog hydrated
- Sue Higgins Park - Take your puppy here for that farm-like feel! With the bow river, this is a perfect place to have some fun in the water
- Riverdale Dog Park - Live closer to downtown? Check out this park with plenty of nature to explore

- Colour Me Mine - Dogs can create a paw print that you can take home and keep forever. Be sure to call ahead for availability
- Michaels - Wanting to get some craft supplies but don't want to leave your dog at home? Bring them with you!
- Cabelas - Looking at gear for your next outdoor adventure will be just as fun with your dog helping you pick
- The Beltliner - This modern diner features a 2-course dog menu you won't want to miss
- Cold Garden Beverage Company - enjoy an ice-cold beer in this well-known dog-friendly location
