The community of Banff Trail is so named because it sits on the Trans-Canada Highway, the major thoroughfare to quickly access Banff to the west. Banff Trail School is an elementary school for children from Kindergarten to Grade 6. Branton Junior High is one of the only French immersion schools of its age group in the northwest, students feeding in from all communities surrounding it.
William Aberhart is a reputable school for senior high students, currently ranked at 31st in the province. Its position in the top 20 high schools is a long-standing tradition.
